Health and Wellness Check for Your Website

Health Check Websites require periodic maintenance and review.

First, is your website functioning properly? If you are a client, I take care of basic maintenance functions, such as updates to the WordPress core, plugins, and themes, and site backups. (See below for more in-depth maintenance options.)

Take a moment to review each page on your site, to make sure that everything is in order (text, images, links, etc.). Test your contact form, and perform a health check of your email too! Keep an eye out for broken links (usually crossed out in your browser). Periodically perform a link audit (ask for details).

Second, review the Google Analytics reports for your website. Ask for a review of traffic on your site, or for instructions on how to login to your Analytics dashboard. Your Analytics reports provide a huge amount of information about site performance, and how it might perform better.

Third, is your website serving all of your needs? Evaluate your site, to see if any changes are needed, or if you wish to add new functionality. Consider adding a calendar, a blog, a newsletter, or an e-store, or reaching out to various social media groups if these are appropriate for your needs. Please contact me to discuss any ideas.

Fourth, consider diving a little deeper into your website hosting. For example, consider logging in to your site to update the text. Or, login to your cpanel — learn how to backup your site, update email configurations, etc.. Contact me and I will assist!

Finally, review your social media sites, and consider new posting strategies. For example, consider some scheduled posting on Facebook, or reaching out to new Facebook groups (for my Nederland CO clients, see Nederland Facebook groups, and the Nederland Calendar listings). If you haven’t tried it yet, you may want to experiment with some Facebook advertising.

Options for more in-depth maintenance include an analysis of website speed, webmaster tools integration, plugin performance, broken links, etc. (charged hourly).

I think that covers the basics! Please contact me if you wish to explore any of the above items further.
