Invoice Dude – An Online Invoice System
Invoice Dude (invoicedude.com) is an online invoicing system with many desirable features – I use the system for my own billing, and I have set it up for clients. I started using it several years ago to get my business up and running, and I’ve found no reason to switch!

The Features I Like:
- It’s FREE
- Paypal integration
- On-demand PDF and client email generation
- Client dashboard, and option for multiple contacts per client
- Automated recurring billing
- Branding option – $5/month (see example below)
- Quotes option – $3/month
What it lacks
- Partial payment options
- Automated recurring payments
Administrative Dashboard
Branding
The branded option ($5/month) puts the entire interface on what appears to be a subdomain of your site, for example, http://billing.yoursite.com. To set this up, identify the subdomain name where requested by Invoice Dude (in the signup process), and follow their directions to set up a Cname. If you are using a registrar or host with cpanel, find the Simple DNS Zone
and enter the Cname on the next screen. That’s it!

Question: Are you still using InvoiceDude? Have you had any issues with it? I’m interested in utilizing them as an alternative to FreshBooks, but a bit worried by the lack of activity on the blog/twitter accounts…
Hi Dave,
Yes, I am still using it – there was a glitch about 8 months ago when their server got hacked, but otherwise I’ve had no problems at all, and find that it suits my need extremely well. I typically generate a PDF copy of invoices so that I have a backup, but yes, ‘still using it, and very happy with it 🙂
Thanks! Helpful to know someone is currently using it w/out issues.
